What is Project Pitch?


Project Pitch is a quarter long, student-run initiative to bring the best entrepreneurs, speakers, and workshops to Northwestern.


What will you do in this program?


You will work in teams to translate your ideas into actions, gaining hands-on startup experience. At the end of the quarter, you will have a chance to pitch your idea in a final competition and win some big prizes.


Why should you apply to Project Pitch?


You will have the opportunity to work with students from all disciplines and find and create new markets with your ideas. Finally, you will gain the skills and confidence needed to start your own business and expand your network of students and startups.

2015

KICKOFF ft. IDEATION

Connect with the other participants, get introduced to the program, and meet the Project Pitch team. In addition, we will be doing a team-building exercise. You'll also get a glimpse of what entrepreneurship means. In addition, we will be doing a team-building exercise.

E1. BUSINESS MODEL CANVAS

Learning what the Business Model Canvas is the first step to understand how to describe, design, challenge, and pivot your business.

E2. COMPETITIVE LANDSCAPE

In this workshop you’ll be learning how important it is to know who your competitors are and how you are different. There might be another application or idea out there just like you, how are going to bring something new to the table?


Apr. 17-18

E3. Buildathon

This workshop will be two days long. Don’t worry it won’t be too stressful, it is just some time for you to put together some of the things you’ve learned for the past three weeks. Hopefully you’ll have a rough idea of what your idea will be like after the Buildathon.

E4. COOL SPEAKER

It's time to find where your ideas are lacking. We'll work on giving groups feedback to make your ideas better. Some will change altogether but don't worry it will pay off in the end.

E5. PITCH

Prepare a short 3-minute pitch of your idea. A pitching coach is comig to town and he'll make mediocre pitches great and great pitches even better.

E6. PRACTICE

Get some practice before the final pitch night. This is your opportunity to prepare something close to your final presentation. You've done all the work up to this point you're on the last stretch.

E7. COMPETITION

The program will culminate in a final pitch competition where teams will pitch their businesses once more to a larger Northwestern audience. Winning teams receive fantastic prizes.
